We all deserve an open sexual future

October 14–15, Booth B34

Who has sexual rights?

EVERYONE! Babies, children, and adults. Males, females, and intersex. Lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender, queers, and straights. The whole gamut of sex, sexual orientation, and gender. Being secure in your body is an inalienable right, and discrimination based on your genuine self is indefensible.

We all have a right to our own bodies.

Why protect children's sexuality?

We were all children once. And our bodies—regardless of our age, and even when newborn—belong to us. We believe that society should adopt a "hands off" policy. It is up to the child—when they are old enough to decide for themselves—what their genitals look like and how to use them ... or not. When we protect children from forced interventions—including male and female genital cutting (aka circumcision) and unwanted gender-norming operations—we protect adults, too.

People of every age have rights—including sexual rights.

Why foreskin pride?

The intact penis with its fabulous foreskin is too often shamed and ridiculed by people who are ignorant of its importance and functions. When it comes to sexual pleasure, nature does not make mistakes. The foreskin is a wonder. And it is unique—the only skin on the human body not attached to underlying tissue, which means it can glide to and fro.

Why intactivism?

Intactivism is a growing movement to protect all children from genital harm. Newborn male circumcision—the most common form of genital harm in the United States—sexually alters 4,000 baby boys every day. This surgery is utterly unnecessary, causes extreme pain for the boy, and deprives the adult he will become of a fully functional sex organ.

Why does Intact America love Pride?

We enjoy celebrating with like-minded people, and Pride events foreshadow our goal where everyone’s sexuality is protected and celebrated. Intact America has been fortunate to participate in Pride events for the past 12 years. But because we weren’t able to meet in person this year, we’ve decided to create this page to answer the questions we most often hear at our booth.

Why Intact America?

Intact America is the largest national advocacy group working to end child genital cutting (baby boy circumcision) in America, and to ensure healthy sexual futures for all people. Intact America envisions a world where children are free from medically unnecessary surgeries carried out on them without their consent in the name of culture, religion, profit, or parental preference.
